Tenured Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Institute of Optoelectronic Engineering, and Director of the "Geometric Reference" Research Division of the State Key Laboratory of Testing Technology and Instruments at the Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University. His main research areas include precision measurement with optical frequency combs and LiDAR.

He has working at the Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University since 2010. He currently serves as the Chair of the Optical Metrology Committee of the Conference Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO), a Council Member of the International Committee for Metrology and Instrumentation (ICMI), Chairman of the Optical Measurement and Committee of the Beijing Optical Society, a Member of the National Optoelectronic Measurement Standardization Technical Committee, and a Member of the Metrology and Instrumentation Committee of the China Met and Testing Society. He also served as a Steering Committee Member of the Intelligent Photosynthesis Project under Japan's Exploratory Research to Advanced Technology (ERATO) program2015-2019).

He has led and undertaken numerous national projects, including key special projects of the National Key R&D Program, Major Instrument Special Projects, and various projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), such as Major Research Plan Cultivation Projects, General Programs, International Cooperation Projects. He has published over 80 research papers in renowned journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, eLight, Light Science & Application, and & Photonics Reviews; delivered over 30 keynote/invited speeches at international conferences including CLEO, SPIE Europe, and ISMTII; and holds over 30 authorized invention patents, 5 of which have been commercialized.
