Dr. Zhu Jun, an Associate Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, earned his Ph.D. in 2000 from Zhejiang University. He joined Tsinghua University and, from 2015 to 2016, conducted research on optical freeform surfaces at the University of Rochester. He teaches courses like "Fundamentals of Optical Engineering(1)" and "Modern Optical Design."
As a member of the Young Experts Committee on Advanced Optical Manufacturing, Dr. Zhu focuses on optical design and instruments. His research spans optical freeform systems, design methods, applications, automatic design, novel performance optical systems, tolerance analysis, and system alignment . He has led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, developed high-precision optical instruments, authored 40+ SCI papers, and holds 120+ invention patents. Dr. Zhu received a First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress and is esteemed as an outstanding Ph.D. dissertation supervisor in optical engineering.
