The launch ceremony and implementation plan demonstration meeting for the National Key R&D Program project "In-situ Measurement and Calibration Device for Tiling of Ultra-large Focal Plane Detectors" was successfully held.
On April 11, 2025, the Department of Precision Instrument at Tsinghua University organized the project launch and implementation plan demonstration meeting for theIn-situ Measurement and Calibration Device for Tiling of UlLiu Qiang delivered a speech on behalf of the undertaking unit and stated that, as the project lead, the Department of Precision Instrument at Tsinghua University will fully its disciplinary advantages, integrate superior resources from both inside and outside the university, and provide comprehensive support for the project's implementation.tra-Large Focal Plane Detectors," a key project under the National Key R&D Program's " Quality Infrastructure System" special program. Wang Hao, Project Manager of the China 21st Century Agenda Management Center, and Liu Qiang, Director of the of Precision Instrument at Tsinghua University, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. An expert panel participated in the demonstration, consisting of Researcher Tang Wanjin from the China Institute of Standardization, Researcher Zhou Weihu from the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Feng Qibo from Beijing Jiaotong University, Researcher Zi from the National Institute of Metrology, Researcher Liu Ke from the Beijing Aerospace Testing and Metrology Technology Institute, Researcher Liu Junqi from the Institute of Semiconductors of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Li Fuqiang from the Beijing Institute of Space Electromechanical Engineering, Professor Zhang Fumin from Tianjin University, and Senior Accountant Su Leiyang Zhongxi Certified Public Accountants. Also attending the meeting were Wang Zhaoxin, Senior Manager of the Program Office of the Research Institute of Tsinghua University, as well project leaders, core researchers, and financial assistants from the project undertaking units, with a total of over thirty people in attendance.
The kick-off meeting was chaired by the project leader Wu Guanhao, who first introduced the attendees and the project's launch status, and expressed gratitude on behalf of the project team to the experts from various units for their support. Wang Hao introduced the relevant details and policies of the latest National Key R&D Program project, the "National Quality Infrastructure System" key special project, emphasizing that the project team must be guided by the national strategy, strictly adhere to policy red lines, strengthen the implementation of responsibilities, and simultaneously focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and the application of achievements to ensure the high-quality completion of the project.
Liu Qiang delivered a speech on behalf of the undertaking unit and stated that, as the project lead, the Department of Precision Instrument at Tsinghua University will fully its disciplinary advantages, integrate superior resources from both inside and outside the university, and provide comprehensive support for the project's implementation.
The demonstration phase of the implementation plan was chaired by Tang Wanjin, the head of the expert group. Project leader Wu Guanhao delivered a systematic report on overall goal of the "In-situ Measurement and Calibration Device for Tiling of Ultra-Large Focal Plane Detectors," covering aspects such as research background, technical, implementation plan, organizational structure, and expected outcomes. Addressing the challenge of tiling accuracy measurement in the manufacturing of ultra-large focal plane detectors, the project aims to through key technologies including full-field pose measurement using optical frequency combs, high-precision 3D tiling registration, and the development of large-aperture standards It intends to develop core devices with independent intellectual property rights, providing critical technical support for fields such as aerospace and deep space exploration. The five project sub-task respectively reported on the specific implementation plans of their five sub-tasks.
The attending experts conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the research content and objectives, technical route and implementation plan, expected outcomes, and project interfaces of the project and its subprojects, and provided professional and detailed comments and suggestions. The expert panel considered the project implementation plan to be feasible, unanimously agreed to pass the demonstration of the implementation, and recommended further refining and improving the implementation plan in accordance with the experts' comments.
This project is led by Tsinghua University, with participating units including the University of Science and Technology Beijing, the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Beijing Great Wall Metrology and Testing Technology Research Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, the 11th Research Institute the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun University of Science and Technology, Guangwei (Guangdong Technology Co., Ltd., and Tianjin University of Technology. Aiming at the urgent demand for large-area detectors in fields such as aerospace remote sensing, the project researches-situ measurement methods for the stitching process of focal plane detectors, overcomes key technologies such as 3D contour and pose measurement using optical frequency combs, vibration sensing, 3D registration, and in-situ self-calibration, develops core components such as full-field pose sensing probes, develops in-situ measurement calibration devices carries out demonstration applications in the field of aerospace remote sensing, forms independent intellectual property rights, and formulates technical specifications and corresponding standards for in-situ measurement and of detector stitching, promoting their application in the detector manufacturing industry to improve the manufacturing quality and product competitiveness of large-area detectors in China.
