Research Interests
1. Freeform optical design
Dr. Jun Zhu was born in August, 1971. In 2000, he joined in the Department of Precision Instrument after he got his Ph.D degree in the College of Optical Science and Engineering in Zhejiang University. From August 2015 to August 2016, he was a visitor scholar in the Institute of Optics in University of Rochester for the research in optical freeform surface design. His current research interests include the design of freeform optical systems, the characterization of freeform systems, automated design of optical systems, and infrared remote technology, etc. He is now teaching two undergraduate courses: Geometrical Optics and Modern Optical Design. In recent five years, he has published more than 24 SCI journal papers and he is now holding 36 China patents and 6 US patents.
2. Optical instruments design
High-performance star light simulator; Detector of laser modes; Aspherical optical systems, etc.
3. Illumination system design
Design of LCD light guide plate, etc.
