Professor Lei Huang commits to the development of wavefront/non-wavefront sensing, reconstruction, and control algorithm technology. For the wavefront sensing, he proposed a novel Cross Phase Contrast Sensor, based on the principle of the phase contrast, and achieved high detection accuracy in experiment. He presented a novel weighted fried geometry and corresponding reconstructor were proposed to ensure spatial-frequency response, reconstruction accuracy and flexibility in Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensing. He also proposed the sub-regional wavefront hybrid correction technology, the influence function optimization technology, to improve the accuracy of measurement and the precision of wavefront correction. His research presented an important method for beam quality control in laser system by joint compensation of amplitude and phase of a laser beam to improve the beam quality completely (i.e. the laser could be compensated to a nearly fundamental Gaussian beam without any power loss).
