High-precision frequency dissemination and synchronization system of SKA

Release time:2022-04-07
Hits:

Square kilometer array (SKA) is the international science and engineering project. Our team has been involved in the SKA project since 2013, and responsible for the design of SKA Synchronization and Timing system. Considering the star topology of SKA baseline, we proposed a point-to-multipoint frequency dissemination scheme, and developed the fiber based frequency synchronization instrument for SKA.
In the past few years, we performed the field test on equipment reliability and frequency transmission stability at SKA Site, South Africa and Jodrell Bank Observatory, UK. The test results proved that our frequency dissemination instrument could well meet the requirements of SKA. At present, we are conducting research on the long-haul ultra-high precision synchronization and timing system for SKA2.
