In the article published in Photonics Research, Research group proposes an advanced time shifting deviation method for high-precision localization of urban traffic vibration, breaking the technical bottleneck of low localization accuracy of forward-transmission optical fiber vibration monitoring.
Forward transmission optical fiber vibration monitoring is a novel technology. It has been widely concerned because of its ability of submarine seismic monitoring. However, this technical has a great detection range, but loses the accuracy of source localization. It is difficult to be used in the urban optical cable with complex vibration types. We publish an article entitled "Laser interference Monitoring Technology enhanced by Time Shifting Deviation Method: Ultra-high Precision Location of traffic vibration based on Urban fiber Optic Links" in Photonics Research. In this article, an advanced time shifting deviation method is proposed for high-precision localization of urban traffic vibration, which solves the technical bottleneck of poor location accuracy of forward transmission optical fiber vibration monitoring.
