In the group meeting, Yufeng Chen first introduces the definition and basic requirements of time synchronization. For fiber-optic time synchronization, the existing methods can normally be divided into two types: round-trip method and two-way time transfer method. The basic principle of each method is described, with the advantages and disadvantages analyzed in detail. Subsequently, the international research progress in the field of long-distance fiber-optic time synchronization is investigated. Finally, a novel fiber-optic time synchronization method is presented, and its advantages compared with the round-trip method and the two-way time transfer method are also analyzed.
