Experimental exploration of Measurement and Control Technology & Instrument
As an experimental exploration course to the major of Measurement and Control Technology & Instrument, it is closely related to the courses of department of precision instrument. All experiments have corresponding interest attraction and application background. The course will transfer the professional charm, stimulate professional interest, explore professional knowledge, and let students understand the important application prospects of related technologies. This course is divided into three parallel classes, and will be taught by three teachers. Students complete 3 sets of 15 basic experiments within 2 weeks and 3 challenging experiments within 1 weeks (at least one is required to complete). Some of the experimental topics are list here. (1) Disassembly, assembly and measurement of scientific instrument: through this process, students can understand the structure and function of the scientific instrument. (2) Signal transmission and recovery: understanding different modulation and demodulation methods, and the time-domain and frequency-domain characteristics of modulated signals intuitively. (3) Optical measurement in autonomous vehicle: help students learn and conduct the non-contact distance measurement via optical techniques. (4) Exploring the big world with small MEMS sensors: calibrate the MEMS pressure sensors, make measurements of blood pressure, observe and measure the structure parameters or the sensors. Based on 15 basic experiments, set 3 optional challenging experiments: (1) Blind parking toy car: under the premise of not seeing the toy car directly, students can control the moving direction of the toy car and park the toy car in the designated assessment area. (2) Obstacle avoidance of vehicle guided by LIDAR: let the LIDAR assembled by the students go out of the laboratory and into the open and complex terrain space, then guide the moving target to the designated position through measurement and control. (3) Blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate measurement: using hardware and software system.
