In 2026, the selection results of the 4th National Innovation Pioneer Award were officially released. Professor Luping Shi from Tsinghua University received the 2025 National Innovation Pioneer Award for his serial research achievements titled "Basic Theories and Core Technologies of Neuromorphic Computing and Perception Chips". This award targets frontline researchers across all disciplines nationwide to recognize outstanding talents who deliver original scientific and technological breakthroughs in response to major national demands. His award fully acknowledges the systematic original innovations of his team in the basic theories of neuromorphic computing and the development of heterogeneous integrated neuromorphic chips, laying a solid technical foundation for the independent controllability of China’s intelligent chips and the advancement of low-power general intelligent technologies.
