Third-year undergraduate Bohan Zhang has published a paper in Optics Express
In the paper published in Optics Express, Bohan Zhang, an undergraduate who trained in SRT in our research group, proposed a multi-parameter seismic source acquisition method based on laser interferometry. Compared with the optical cable seismic monitoring method reported in Science (361, 486-490, 2018), this optical cable seismic monitoring method overcomes the technical defects such as large positioning error, detection blind area, affected by wave surface distortion, and can simultaneously complete the detection of the source azimuth, depth, epicenter distance and seismic wave velocity. The results are published in Optics Express (Epicenter localization using forward-transmission laser interferometry, Optics Express, 30(13), 24020-24030, 2022) as the first author. The result has potential application value and is expected to be an important supplement to the existing seismic monitoring methods.
