In January 2025, the list of the 2024 Top 10 Scientific and Technological Progresses of China, selected by members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, was published. The Tianmou Chip developed by the team led by Professor Luping Shi and Zhao Rong from the Center for Neuromorphic Computing, Tsinghua University, was successfully selected. As the world’s first neuromorphic complementary vision chip, this chip also claimed the World Internet Conference Leading Science and Technology Award and was listed as a major national scientific and technological engineering progress in the same year. It was featured on the cover of Nature twice, demonstrating China’s world-leading strength in the field of neuromorphic intelligence.
